Jason A. Weis has spent over two decades serving as a trusted advocate for Northern Virginia clients engaged in high-stakes family law cases. A native of the region, he built his practice in Fairfax County and Loudoun County representing clients in contested divorce, custody, support, and property division litigation, and has done so for hundreds of families since 2004.
Mr. Weis did not arrive at family law by the usual path. Before law school, he assisted in the resolution of federal tax disputes alongside United States Tax Court Judges. Early in his legal career, he practiced real estate litigation, business litigation, and complex and class action litigation, and along the way purchased, operated, and sold a commercial entity of his own — experience he has since drawn on to advise others doing the same. He earned his Juris Doctor from George Mason University’s Antonin Scalia Law School with a focus on litigation. Mr. Weis is licensed to practice law in Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia, and is the owner and author of the Virginia Family Law Blog.
Outside the office, Mr. Weis is a devoted husband and father, sharing life with his wife, a special education teacher, their teenage daughter and son, and two Boston Terriers.
